1930-2010: an 80-year-old story made of passion for two-wheelers, creativity and technological research.

The anniversary has sealed the power of this genuine “family company” which has always been a really reactive and flexible company, ready to anticipate market requests and trends by offering quite innovative solutions, a modern organization along with the typical Italian creativity.

Few companies worldwide have had such an old story, and the Malaguti company keeps being owned and managed by the family of its founder.

The Malaguti story starts with Antonino Malaguti sr, then with his son, Learco and currently the two grandsons Marco and Antonino jr who manage the company now.

The adventure of Antonino Malaguti started in the 30s as a bicycle manufacturer in a small factory with 15 employees.
Very soon the Malaguti two-wheelers began sponsoring famous champions. At that time the Malaguti brand name strengthened with quality, inventions and avant-garde technologies.
After the second world war, Malaguti started manufacturing mopeds, which soon became the core business of the company. The MOSQUITO engine, assembled on a special Malaguti lightweight frame with integrated tank, signed the shift from bicycles to motorbikes. Later came the EXPRESS (named after its German engine) which made the Malaguti brand name known on the market.

Over 2,500,000 produced vehicles, among those a lot of top-selling models such as the Fifty (manufacturing start year: 1975), the F10 (manufacturing start year: 1992) and the Phantom (manufacturing start year: 1994, over 400,000 units produced).

Big success for the Phantom line-up, on top of sales in Italy in the 50cc sporty range class in 2009. And also for the Centro 50/125/160 cc line-up with over 25,000 units sold in 2009.

Malaguti offers a range of different class scooters, from 50cc to 500cc, to meet all current market requirements.

The up-to-date factory of Castel San Pietro Terme (Bologna), which has also been the company head office since the beginning of 2010, along with the logistics subsidiary of San Lazzaro di Savena (Bologna) cover a total area of more than 55,000 sm with 230 employees.
In the Castel San Pietro Terme main plant the general management, the domestic and export departments, and the production management (R&D, pre-assembling and 4 assembly lines) are located, as well as the plastic moulding department, producing both for the Malaguti bodyworks needs and for third parties.

In 2009 Malaguti produced over 30,000 units and consolidated its distribution network with over 430 dealers in Italy and in most countries all over the world.

Malaguti stands for both innovation and respect for tradition to keep the Malaguti brand name promises, from its birth until today: avant-garde design and great reliability.
